Kessler Syndrome: Will there be no room for future space exploration ?
When the Earth's orbit is filled with debris, no satellite will be able to conduct space exploration in this orbit.
The word 'space' is attracting to every country today. Because every country has understood the benefits of being a leader in space science. Almost every developed country has its own independent space agency. Even a developed country like India is not far behind in the space race. But this space race has a problem that ordinary people can hardly imagine. And this problem is space debris - the problem of space debris! And from this debris, Kessler syndrome that will arise in the near future.
As late as 1978, NASA scientist Donald Kessler came up with a different idea about space exploration. More precisely, Donald Kessler pointed to the horrors of excessive space exploration. According to Kessler, if too much "space debris" accumulates in orbit around the Earth, its fragments will collide with each other, creating many more fragments! After Donald Kessler's idea, the problems caused by space debris became known as Kessler syndrome.
Here space debris is pieces of space machinery that have been abandoned in space by astronauts. Some satellites fail in their mission or are of no use after completing the mission, they cannot be brought to earth. All of this space waste is also known as space junk.
There are currently about 2,000 active satellites orbiting in space. And at the same time the presence of about 3,000 'Dead Satellites' is real! Apart from this, about 34,000 pieces of machinery larger than 10 cm in size are also scattered in space. If even one of these pieces collides with the satellite, there is a good chance of big damage!
